Lincoln Center Series
Hailed by New York Magazine as "one of the best-programmed music series in New York," the American Symphony Orchestra allows you to explore and discover rare symphonic masterworks at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, under the baton of Music Director Leon Botstein. The 2008-2009 Season offers such works as Edouard Lalo's melodic masterpiece, Le roi d'Ys; a triple U.S. Premiere of the avant-gard featuring Walter Braunfels, Hermann Suter and Josef Marx; Music Of The Other Germany, a program that only ASO can concieve; Luigi Dallapiccola's response to Italian fascism, our second opera-in-concert; a revisit to Willian Grant Still and finally, a study of Israel's musical patriarchs in Composing A Nation.
Our illuminating pre-concert talks will move to Avery Fisher Hall. Join Maestro Botstein 75 minutes prior to performance for a short discussion on the piece. Don't miss it!
This season let American Symphony Orchestra uncover some truly rare works in a style all of our own.
