Description
The ASO presents Sergei Taneyev’s final work, At the Reading of a Psalm in a live concert film experience. Conceived as a massive statement of Russian Orthodox faith at the onset of WWI, this large-scale cantata for full orchestra, double chorus, and powerhouse vocal soloists showcases the dramatic effect of Taneyev’s contrapuntal mastery. The ASO performed the U.S. Premiere of At the Reading of a Psalm on July 15, 2022 in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Captured in high definition with expert sound engineering.
